🧩 Comparison
Browser extension vs server-side notifier
Browser extensions run inside your WhatsApp Web tab: close the browser or shut the computer and they stop watching. A server-side notifier keeps alerting you with nothing open on your side.
No PC left on · Telegram alerts · Presence only
Differences that matter
It is not about which is better, but which fits how you use it.
- Extension: needs the browser open with WhatsApp Web loaded
- Server-side: the session runs in the cloud and alerts you on Telegram even if you shut the computer
- Both rely on visible presence: if the person hides it, neither can see it
- Neither should read chats: WA Tracker only measures going online/offline

FAQ
Is a Chrome extension worse?
Not necessarily: to watch for a while as you work at your computer it can be enough. Its limit is that it only works with the browser open and the session active.
What is the advantage of a server-side service?
It keeps working when you close your computer and alerts you on your phone via Telegram, with exportable history.
Can any tool see "online" if the person hid it?
No. WhatsApp enforces privacy on its servers; no extension or app can show what the person hid. Distrust anyone who promises it.
Is WA Tracker an extension?
No. It is a web service: you link WhatsApp Web with a QR and the session runs on our server. You install nothing on the other person’s phone.
Responsible use: you track online/offline presence with YOUR WhatsApp session. No message reading, no account hacking. Follow the law. More in Legal.
